Full description
I made this pendant by scrolling through heaps of yelow enamel and rods of red-brown enamel that I placed on the blue background I had already made. This involves firing the piece at red hot (800 degrees Celcius) then drawing a steel tip through the surface to draw out the colours into scrolled shapes. The resulting pattern is random, in that I have only limited control of the result as it depends on the malleability of the material and the time it takes to cool to stop it being workable, and therefore unique.
The pendant is 30mm long, 11mm wide. It is mounted on a silver plate chain that fastens with a simple bolt ring.
I have made this pendant by first enamelling it with white enamel then adding blue and the pink enamel using stencil techniques to confine the ccours to the selected area of the piece.
The boat measures 38mm tall by 31mm wide. It is mounted on a 45cm silver plate, curb chain that fastens with a simple bolt ring.
