The largest of my scarf collection. This opulent shawl is a must for an art lover....Inspired by a section the Klimt painting 'The Kiss' .
An ecologically dyed piece of silk voile is a background soft merino wool to be laid. This is a Japanese technique called Nuno felting. Using a process of rubbing and rolling the fibres find their way through the silk and become felted to it. Depending on the weight and depth of the wool added the silk then becomes scrunched up in random areas creating a unique piece that no one else will be wearing! This particular shawl has had fused pieces of angelina squares felted in giving a lovely shimmer to the piece.
Large enough to be worn as a shawl over an evening dress and light enough to scrunch into a comforting scarf. Dimensions are: 150 cm x 60 cm.
This measurement is without including the tassels which are on average about 10 cm either end.
Each one is made to order so please allow up to two weeks for its production - often sooner. Your piece will be similar to the one in the pictures unless you request alternate colourways.
Wash carefully in lukewarm soapy water being careful of the gold pieces. Rinse and dry flat. Can be pressed on the wrong side using an iron on a wool setting. It is advisable to put a piece of paper over the gold squares when pressing.
