Full description
Beautiful, natural opals have been set into these hand made earrings. Created in my home workshop, the earrings have been made using traditional silver smithing techniques.
The diamond shaped tops have been created from 1mm thick sterling silver sheet which I have passed through a rolling mill to emboss a diamond pattern into the silver. Cut by hand to shape then filed and polished before adding hanging loops and ear posts. The Opals have been set into fluted sterling silver cones and linked to the tops with little sterling silver jump rings.
The opals are super sparkling and full of fire. They are unusual as they have a peachy grey opaque base and flash with oranges reds and greens. Really feminine earrings.
The earrings have been fully hall marked at the London Assay Office and bear my unique makers mark. They come supplied with sterling silver scrolls or butterfly backs.
The earrings measure 2.3cm in length approx or just a little under an inch in drop. The posts have been set 2mm below the top point of the stud section, making these hand on the lobes without tipping forward and they also help hide slightly enlarged piercings.
Each opal is unique. One of a kind earrings which would make a lovely gift. Opal is the birthstone for October.
