Silvery blue - stunning Kyanite from Nepal.
Using the natural tendency for Kyanite Crystals to form long shard like shapes, these lovely gemstone beads have been simply shaped and polished to produce long, nugget style beads. The stones show natural colour banding and zoning from silvery grey through to royal blue. The overall effect is of a soft denim blue with a silvery sheen - perfect with every colour in your wardrobe!
The stones have been chosen at random for size and shape, so it isn't graduated, giving it a less traditional and more up to the minute look. The colour of the stones lends itself to being teamed with silver, so I have only used sterling silver in this design.
Every five gemstone beads, I have added a small sterling silver round bead. These are highly polished. Hand knotted for strength and durability, the necklace has been finished with a hand forged sterling silver hook clasp, hand made by me in my home workshop. This is generous in size and hall marked on both parts of the clasp. These assay marks include full UK hall marks and my unique makers mark.
The necklace measures 46cm or just over 18 inches in length. The gemstone beads range from 10mm to 22mm in length approx. Each one is unique in shape and colour tone.
