The piece was inspired by my love of nature and the outdoors but also a concern for the plight of the bees and how important the are to our planet.
Bumble bees to me are the epitome of sunshine, and I wanted to include that in my design. Originally I tried adding yellow felt to my design but I wasn't happy with the result and so instead I tried gold leaf. I'm really pleased with the finished design and I think the gold leaf definitely adds a bit of sunshine to my Bumble Bee.
