This is a stained glass suncatcher handmade using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
This was a new design for 2013, I made the first as a present and have now added the design to my shop here on Folksy.
The suncatcher is in the form of a ring containing a rich turquoise and very shiny hummingbird, a ruby throat I think, hovering, with its beak collecting nectar from a pretty pink flower.
I've used a lovely baroque glass for the pink flower which has swirls and stripes..
The bird and flower are surrounded by pretty textured clear glass and I've framed the ring with twisted wire for strength and neatness.
The suncatcher hangs from a little silver chain which is securely attached at the top by soldered rings.
I love this hummingbird design. It looks absolutely stunning hanging up in the light where it shines and the different textures and shades of glass give it life and sparkle.
The suncatcher is round, 5.25 inches in diameter.
I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass. Every piece I make is unique.
The 5th photo is of the previous suncatcher I sold so you can see that each is unique though both to the same design.
A handmade Folksy Spring style gift.
I love hummingbirds and the beautiful sight of them dipping their beaks into the nectar.
Please note : POSTAL CHARGES : . I always part-refund postage via Paypal where more than one piece is ordered to allow for combined postal charge. I do this as soon as I receive your order.
