Full description

Stoneware French style round butter dish.

I make this butter dish by throwing stoneware clay on my wheel, creating the dome and then the saucer. Both pieces are left to dry a little before they are fettled, adding a foot ring to the saucer and the unique twirly handle to the lid. It is then left to dry completely for at least a week. It is then bisque fired to over 1000 degrees. Once cooled it is glazed and fired again, this time to 1250 degrees making it strong and durable. The glaze is a beautiful 'Robin's Egg with grey, blue and tan flex on a base of sage green. My potter's mark is on the base of the saucer.

Dimensions (approx)

Diameter: 14.5cm, 5 1/2 inches

Height: 8cm, 3 inches

All my work is made with lead free glazes.

Dishwasher and microwave safe.
