I was inspired to create seven palettes of colour around each of the colours of the spectrum. Some of the accent colours appear in several of the palettes so they all harmonise with each other. In this way I hope to create components and accessories that can be mixed and matched.
This orange palette was inspired by fiery red foliage against a cool grey Autumn sky.

Full description
I made these red and orange earrings using my handmade polymer clay beads on red satin cord. I used the colours from my Orange Palette. The main beads are red coloured squares edged with beige with a raised dot decoration in orange and beige. I have also used rustic orange disk beads, and textured matt round beads with a pattern of fiery orange and red streaks on a beige background.
These earrings are 6.5cm long including the ear-wires and the short split tail formed by the ends of the red satin cord that the beads are on. The ear wires I have used are bronze coloured niobium shepherd's hooks so the are hypo-allergenic.
