A dear friend wanted a novel way to give their loved one a very special small gift on Valentines Day, so I designed this permanent reminder of that moment. But I can't say much more as "the moment" hasn't happened yet........
Having posted a picture online, I have now been getting a steady stream of orders through & decided to offer them on Folksy as they seem very popular.

Full description
The perfect Valentines Day gift or any other time of year for the love of your life. A handmade heart in Somerset Oak with a rotating lid that reveals a secret place for a billet doux or other token of your love. Finished with a local bees wax each heart can have one or two initials carved on the front. Please specify the initial or initials you require at the time of ordering.
The heart measures 11 cm long by 11.5 cm at the widest point and is 4.5 cm deep. Each heart is handmade to order so will vary a little as the primary objective is to pick the best piece of wood to show off the grain.
I operate alone in a small studio in the Mendip Hills in Somerset and use only locally sourced materials from responsible suppliers. The materials for each heart rarely come from more than 5 miles from the studio.
Each initial is hand carved in the traditional manner, no machines are used. The standard type face is Times New Roman, if you have a particular type face you would like, please let me know.
