Pretty bracelet of small "baroque" freshwater pearls with an inset section of garnets and a sterling silver clasp

There are a matching pair of earrings (see the photo here and the separate listing). Garnets are the birthstone for January.

Garnets are an ancient stone, famed for their curative and protective powers. In the language of gems, garnets indicate loyalty, unchanging affection and grace, so they were often used by the Victorians in engagement rings. My crystal reference book says "Carry garnet when it seems you will never achieve your goal. It brings hope and the power to succeed in hopeless situations." Pearls are traditionally a symbol of feminine power, so this should be a good combination!
