This bud vase has a lively, contemporary look and the pronounced throwing rings make it a very tactile object, lovely to hold in both hands. Outside it's been coated in a dark blue glaze with hints of grey where it breaks thinner .. inside is a white dolomite glaze with a sheen like marble.
Very little trimming has been needed on this pot, just the base has been shaped by eye simply using a potter's knife.
The piece should hold liquid and be fine to display fresh flowers. Height is approx. 3.75 inches and maximum width is about the same.
Mark Smalley's personal symbol is impressed to the underside.
