In the books that I repurpose I often find interesting page markers such as envelopes, train tickets or photographs. These fascinating cards remind me of items like this and make a great gift for an aviation enthusiast. A bookmark is the perfect way for the cards to be enjoyed and useful.

Full description
Aircraft recognition cards were designed to enable military personnel to recognise different aircraft types. The silhouette cards had 3 different views for each type of plane/helicopter. There would be a side, front and underside view for each. Civilians with an interest in aviation also enjoy the pastime of learning the different types of plane from materials like this.
This bookmark has been created using an original aircraft recognition card as described above. The card has had previous owners who will have used it to learn about aircraft. It will show signs of wear, especially at the edges and may have marks or creases. A grosgrain ribbon has been fitted to help keep the bookmark secure between the pages of your book. The ribbon has been heat sealed to prevent fraying.
The card itself measures approximately 11cm x 8.5cm. The length of the bookmark from the top of the card to the end of the ribbon is approximately 22cm.
An information card is included which can be useful if you are giving the bookmark as a gift and the recipient may not be familiar with this type of ephemera.
Every aircraft recognition card is individual and will depict a different plane or helicopter to those pictured in the photographs. This listing is for a single bookmark.
