As a child we always spent our holiday in Cornwall. My dad loved to go to the fish market on the quay and watch the local fishing boats landing their catch. He also loved to fish, which I did not, but I was fascinated by the skin on the fish. The fish were packed in crushed ice, which they still are today, so their skin would gleam and look pearlescent.
I wanted to capture that shine and pattern in 'Sardines' and very much enjoyed studying the detail on each fish.

Limited edition print (a limited run of 500) by Vicki Hunt of an original fine line drawing in Japanese ink. 'Sardines' is hand drawn using a fountain pen.
I absolutely love the feel of drawing with a fountain pen. The Japanese pen used to draw Sardines has a very fine nib, making it perfect for creating the detailed work I so enjoy working on. The drawing is many days work.
This is a limited edition print, signed and numbered, printed onto archival paper using archival inks.
The print size is A4 and the mount size is 11inches by 14inches making it a standard size for framing.
Each print comes enclosed in clear cellophane, and a certificate of authenticity is included.
