A stunning scarf that has been made using a nuno felting technique.
Beautifully soft black merino wool fibres have been laid over one side of a black silk chiffon scarf. Additional wool and silk fibres have been added to create a poppy design at each end of the scarf. The scarf has then been nuno felted, a process which causes the wool fibres to migrate through the wool and bind with it. This allows the woollen layer to be extremely fine with the strength of the scarf provided by the underlying silk. The result is an extremely lightweight and floaty scarf that drapes beautifully. The reverse of the scarf has been left unfelted in order to maintain its very sheer nature and allow the beauty of the silk to show.
This scarf measures approximately 135cm x 42cm (53" x 16.5"). It is wide enough to be draped around the shoulders to be worn as a wrap or shawl. A gorgeous addition to any outfit, smart or casual, this scarf would make a lovely gift for any occasion.
Handwash in warm water, do not wring, roll in a towel to remove excess water, reshape while wet and press using a cool (wool/silk) setting.
