This coaster is 10cm x 10cm and comes complete with protective bumper feet. The coaster has a spiders web design, and in the corner, a raised spider sits and waits for an unsuspecting mug to be placed near him. I scared myself by leaving the coaster on the sofa arm rest. I just noticed a black spider shaped object from the corner of my eye and it made me jump...muppet!

This is for 1 coaster, and the design may differ slightly from the picture. I will box it up, and safely package it in bubble wrap.

As for practical matters, its best to hand wash it, and it's not suitable for children, as it is glass, and will smash into sharp bits if dropped or used carelessly.

Glass is a great medium to work with, if you take the temperature to different amounts, you can produce different effects. My son loves bugs and creepy crawlies, so I thought it would be great to create some coasters that actually had some creatures on them. The first stage is to design the spiders web with black stringers (just like spaghetti, only made from glass). Once this has been fully fused (so the black lines fully melt), I can create the spider in the top corner. By reducing the top temperature in the kiln, the glass wont melt so much, and so it stays raised. My son loves it, I hope you do.
