Most felted vessels are made using a resist material which is removed meaning they are not waterproof. I wanted to make something that could be used as a plant pot or vase without having to find something that fits so I felted over an existing vessel.

Full description
This beautiful planter or vase has been made by felting natural grey jacob wool over a plastic globe shaped container. Various wool fibres have been added to the surface to create a floral design. Antique bronze coloured petals and multicoloured acrylic bicone beads have been hand sewn in place to accentuate the flowers. The plastic inner has been left in place to allow this vessel to be used as a plant pot or vase although it would look equally at home as a decorative pot. It is spherical in shape with a flattened base for stability and is open at the top.
This pot measures approximately 18cm (7") diameter in all directions and the opening measures approximately 10.5cm (4").
A beautiful addition to any home, this would make a lovely gift idea.
Wool is naturally dirt repellant but if cleaning is required I would recommend sponging the surface with warm soapy water.
