What does Upcycle mean to us?
Wikipedia defines upcycle as: “The process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value”.
MMM believes also beautiful and useful should be added to this definition.
Often, the pieces we use have marks or other signs of use. This does not detract from the resulting art work, rather enhances it’s beauty. Please be assured that each piece is robust and fit for purpose!
MMM uses recycled items either as a substrate (base) or tesserae. Often porcelain or other crockery material is used to decorate items such as plates, bowls and cups. Mirror, glass and window frames are also re-purposed - in fact often only the stained glass we use is “new”. Even the ceramic tiles sometimes used as a base are recycled from building sites.
In our process we are able to integrate your own mementos into the finished work which can make the piece even more precious for you.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Full description
This cute little ladybug or ladybird sitting on a leaf has been created and then attached to a large piece of gritstone rock. I have used the fabulous pate de verre glass tile in red and stained glass in black and it is completed with an outline of silver colored ball chain. Perfect for placing in your garden or lawn. These rocks are great as bed markers and a group of them would be useful to to mark a bed or a path. I have grouted this piece in a light grey; you are welcome to choose any other colour that you like.
It can also be used as decoration for your deck or balcony. By the way, this piece of rock came from one of the walls of my 500 year old cottage. It's a piece of English history.
This piece measures approximately 15.25 cm x 19cm (6 x 7.5")
If you would like your own custom rock, please contact me.
Please note: The shipping prices listed are specific to that rock. This may result in an incorrect calculated price of two or more rocks. I do apologise for this but unfortunately Folksy does not have the facility at the moment for calculating the correct shipping. Of course, any overage will be immediately refunded to your Paypal or credit card. I will absorb any underpriced sales.
Please note that your monitor or device may be set differently and colours may show differently.
Due to the weight of our garden rocks, unfortunately they are only available to the lucky folk in the EU. Please accept my apologies to the rest of the world.
