Full description
Handmade ceramic heart brooch decorated with a pretty bird.
I hand rolled white earthenware clay and cut the clay using a 3.5cm x 3.5cm heart shaped cutter. After cleaning the edges I applied a clear glaze before firing to 1100 degrees.
After the first firing I added the bird decal. The decal is made from a photograph I have taken of this original hand embroidered bird. Next I have fired again, this time to 800 degrees before adding the brooch fixing.
Looks lovely on and would make a perfect gift.
I have made a few of these so the bird may be facing the opposite way to the one shown in the picture.
