Full description
I have re-purposed a wooden box frame measuring approximately 14cm square by 2.5cm deep. The frame has been painted in shades of pale turquoise and sandy brown. A texture has been applied in a random stripe pattern. The reverse of the frame has been covered in a paper with a vintage paper pattern design.
The mannequin has been covered with vintage tissue paper which has been hand stamped with a dress form design. This has been hand coloured with iridescent watercolour.
The shelf unit was made from cardboard which was then painted. On the top shelf there are tiny cotton reels carefully wound with thread, a larger bobbin with cotton twine, a handmade pin cushion, complete with handmade pins, a bundle of felt squares and two cards of miniature pearl trim.
On the second shelf there is a little straw basket packed with handmade embroidery skeins, three little bottles of glass beads, two more bobbins with twine and three pieces of cross stitch fabric.
On the two bottom shelves there are fabric bolts made from paper and card in various designs.
Hanging from the shelves there are three handmade button cards and a decorative pair
of scissors.
Finally this piece has been finished with cotton lace and faux pearl trim.
