Bees are wonderful creatures! I wanted to take my drawing of this lovely bee into my jewellery, and decided that wood was the best material to do it in! I used my laser cutter to engrave the bee on, and to cut out the brooch before painting it by hand and varnishing it.

This hand-painted bee brooch measures just over 3cm across, and is carefully glued to a brooch back. Perfect as a spring addition to your outfit as the bees are starting to appear again, getting ready for summer! (Spring is a little delayed where I am because we're in Scotland, and it was still snowing last week!)
I used my own original drawing to laser engrave the bee, and laser-cut out the hexagon shape, then sanded, painted the brooch, and varnished it.
