The stitch used in this necklace is called Russian Spiral. It is a stitch I only discovered recently and I am amazed at the variations that can be made just by changing the types of beads and the number in each round. These shiny blue bugle beads are a favourite of mine and this was the first time I tried the spiral with just bugle beads between the small seed beads. I love the open effect it has; quite different to some of the other examples of Russian Spiral that I am selling.

This pretty spiral rope necklace is handwoven using tiny silver-lined seed beads and bugle beads in a shiny pale blue. Its hollow structure gives the piece a very delicate appearance. Although it is a little less robust than some of my other necklaces it is stitched using the strongest tensile strength of Fireline braided beading thread and will withstand normal use. It is finished with a plated silver clasp and extension chain with a tiny silver-coloured droplet. The extension chain adds a pretty extra feature at the back if the wearer has short hair or is wearing their hair up.
The necklace is 42.5cms (16.7ins) long but extends to 49cms (19.3ins) if the extension chain is fully deployed. It is 1.1cms (0.4ins) in diameter.
The necklace will be sent wrapped in acid-free tissue paper in a sturdy cardboard box.
