I can't resist a rainbow. I'm also rather fond of pretty windows and often photograph them when we're on holiday. So I've combined the two into this new piece. Very rich and cheerful and it should brighten up the darkest of days.
I thought of calling this Windows as rather than just being a single window with 20 panes, it could just as easily be a block of flats with different coloured curtains at each window and different lights shining through them.
It can of course be anything you want, a patchwork quilt even. The choice is yours.

Full description
This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
A brand new new design for autumn 2014 which I'christened Rainbow Window and this is the second I've made so I really hope you like it,
I've drawn a window, framed on all sides with rich royal blue glass.
Within the frame I've placed 20 squares using all 7 colours of the rainbow.
For extra interest and effect 1 square is mirror glass which reflects whatever is in front so the picture constantly changes. Two other squares are collage fusing glass, clear with pretty delicate pattern.
I've used lots of different textures of glass, some iridescent, some streaky so this piece has a lot of movement.
I've given it a very pretty soldered edge using scalloped copper foil and then framed it with a twisted wire surround for strength and neatness.
I am really pleased with this suncatcher. It looks super in the window with the sun casting the vibrant colours which change with the light.
This is 16 cm high by 13.75 cm wide and hangs from a little silvery chain which is securely attached to the top of the suncatcher.
I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass for each piece to ensure it is unique.
The 5th photo shows the previous one I sold so you can see they are different though to the same design.
