Full description

This is a stained glass ornament, a lovely piece of glass art, handmade using the Tiffany copper foil technique.

A Cockerel or a Rooster made in glorious rich shades of reds, gold and ambers and with some greeny blues added in for good measure. His name is Richard. As this is my 12th Rooster he is called Richard XIl Red Rooster.

Richard is free standing securely in a lovely little oak wood stand. He is 17cm x 15cm and the stand 8 cm x 7cm The complete ornament is 18cm high.

He has wings, added on top of the body, back and front to give a more colourful 3D effect.

I've placed the Rooster on some green glass, for grass, which slots neatly into the stand and is secured with 2 soft bolts from the back. i use a paperknife to tighten, very easy.

Previous versions of ths design have been on free standing wire feet but this arrangement on the oak stand is far more secure.

The second photo shows it with my own Richard I.

When the light catches him he spreads his lovely colours right around and he really does make a superb and unique ornament. Perfect to gift or to keep for yourself.

This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use different variations of colour and textures of glass.
