How many of us look at the pigeons we see in towns and cities? We might notice them being chased by small children, or being fed by old ladies dropping bags of bread crumbs on street corners, but when was the last time you really looked at the subtle and striking variations in the average city pigeon's plumage? They can be any and all shades of grey, from almost black to the palest hint of colour on white. And especially around their necks, they often have irridescent colouring that glints pink and blue in the sunlight. They may be scrawny and not particularly good for public health, but city pigeons are an inspiration when it comes to unusual colour combinations.

Handspun in the Cotswolds. Amount: not less than 120 yards. Knits to roughly 4ply/sock yarn weight.
"City Pigeon"
50% unnamed wool / 50% soy silk yarn
This is a unique yarn, with a relatively tight twist to create a highly variagated pattern between the grey tones of the wool and the pastel irridescence of the soy silk.
