This handsome wading bird has become a regular sight on British shorelines and estuaries due to careful conservation work to maintain it's habitat.
We first fell for the charms of this striking bird whilst living in France where flocks of Avocets could often be seen feeding at low tide along the Atlantic coastline.
The beauty of a reduction linocut print is the depth achieved through the build up of inks on the paper. This gives a rich texture to the artwork which has a velvet quality to it's appearance.

Printed in 5 colours and pulled on hand press. Signed, numbered and titled in pencil by the artist.

Making art through the medium of lino is one where surprises are a daily occurrence.
The reduction method entails the lino plate being slowly worked away after each colour is printed. The first press is with the lightest colour, the final pressing is the darkest colour. Once the final colour is printed the plate is destroyed.
Limited Edition of 25, (plus 5 Artists Proofs).
A certificate of authenticity will be supplied with the print.
Supplied in a cream mount.

Mount size: to fit frame 30 x 40cms, (approx. 15.5" x 11.75").
