'Will you walk into my parlour' said the spider to the fly - this has been machine embroidered onto linen, then hand stitched onto cotton dotty fabric.Spider has been made from air dry clay ,painted ,coffee dyed and then varnished.His legs are made from wire ,painted black and his little hat is made from wool felt. The curtains are coffee dyed vintage crocheted lace.
Fly is made also from clay and wire and the wings have been made from machine embroidered plastic and is securely attached to the tin and he is definitely not going into the parlour !
The reverse is the same dotty fabric with 'not on your nelly ' says the fly - machine embroidered onto linen.
The whole lot has been housed in a vintage tin. and measures 11 cms x 8cms. excluding the fly. (The fly is about 4cms . long )
