There are over 500,000 items listed on Folksy each year by around 15,000 designer makers. This is just a fraction of those produced in the UK as a whole. However, the life behind these beautiful hand crafted products is rarely seen. We wanted to show how and where craft is really made.

Revealing Craft is a photographic book revealing the hidden world of craft.
Photographer India Hobson spent 16 months photographing a selection of 13 makers who sell their work on Folksy. This book is the story of their lives, through their homes, their processes and their materials.
Designed by du.st in collaboration with Folksy, it is a photographic project about the how slow stuff gets made: the things that take time, skill and effort. It is a largely invisible world of small home studios, spare rooms and kitchen tables and of expert techniques learnt over thousands of hours of practice often handed down from generations.
- 72-page book
- made from newspaper print
- full colour protective sleeve
- interviews with the makers
- package includes the Revealing Craft book, an insert containing India's diary of her visits to the makers' homes, and a separate fold-out colour photograph
- free p&p within the UK
See inside the studios of James Green, Alison Deegan, Zoe Badger, Debbie Greenaway, Brian Trevaskiss, Sarah Pinney from Northfield Primitives, weaver Agnis Smallwood, Butterscotch & Beesting, Kate Broughton, Kirsty Cross, Harriet Hawkins, Keely Brightmore and Helen Hallows.
India's photos from the Revealing Craft project have also serialised in Mollie Makes magazine (shown in the last photo). You can find more images from the project on Pinterest https://www.pinterest.com/folksy/revealing-craft/
