I find it very fitting to use real natural objects to create my pieces and I try where ever possible in my process and artwork to be mindful of the environment and respectful to nature. Using recycled materials and limiting my impact on the environment is of huge importance to me. And I hope that my pieces will inspire people to look at the natural world with kinder eyes and cherish the natural beauty we have all around us.

Handmade stoneware ceramic 'Sea Scape Platter'.
Approximate size 29 x 16 cm...........................11 1/2 x 6 1/4
My unique Seascape Platters are a joyous celebration of the natural sea flora and fauna that is to be found along the South Coast of England.
I scour the beach for interesting textures, finds and shapes and impress or 'sprig' them into and onto the clay. Often some 'man made' trinkets are found along the way and thrown in for good measure. After all we are part of nature too.....
The glistening shimmer of colours in the middle and around the plate is recycled glass that I have collected from old bottles and jars and used to decorate.
Each of my Sea Scapes are individual and unique. I try not to have a definite design in my head when making them, instead allowing a more spontaneous approach using the different objects and finds to dictate the finished effect. This makes each one truly unique and unusual and unlike any other one.
They are a perfect size for use for holding keys or trinkets, pot pourri or jewellery, great displayed on a table or sideboard. Many customers display theirs empty to show off it's entire beauty either flat on a surface or propped up on a stand. Some customers have placed theirs in a plate hanger and hung upon a wall which looks stunning!
Please note the Seascape you will receive is the exact one pictured.
