Full description
A decorative, wood-fired bowl (or vase) with very subtle colours of pale orange-brown and grey. This piece was hand thrown on the wheel and once leather hard, it was skillfully carved using a custom-made tool. The inside was glazed with a traditional, Japanese Shino glaze, whilst the outside has been coloured by the flames and ash from the kiln. Although the colours are quite pale and muted, the facets from carving catch the light beautifully, especially when the piece is turned over in the hands.
It has been fired to around 1280 degrees centigrade so is fully waterproof and food-safe.
Measures approx. 4 inches tall and about 3.75 inches across at its widest point.
