I love working with texture and focusing in on elements of a design. This design has been inspired by the amazing guernsey sweaters, with their use of texture stitches and motifs. I wanted to create a simple, style that was easy for most knitters to reproduce that would have impact and be very wearable.

Full description
A fun and relaxed design for hat and matching hand warmers. THis is an easy to follow pattern for someone with a basic knowledge of knitting and some sewing ability. There is an option to make a crochet flower decoration, which is suitable for someone with basic crochet experience.
The items are made in an aran weight yarn so it is possible to complete this project over a weekend or during the evenings over the course of a week.
I have developed this pattern using Rowan Felted Tweed Aran yarn, which gives a lovely texture and the colours are to die or, but any aran weight yarn will work.
The tension I have worked to on this pattern is:
18 stitches over 24 rows to give 10cm square in stocking stitch.
