I wanted to design a set of contemporary mugs and bowls that would look beautiful and interesting on the table at every mealtime. One that told the origin of how and where they were made
The clay these mugs were made from was dug up from our own island. The spiral handle shows the energy of our lives and the ancient physics of the potters wheel. The glazes reflect the colours that we see in our surrounding lowland pastures and mountains, the rivers, lakes and seas as the seasons change.
The mug in the main pictures is the one that you would recieve.

Full description
A great mug that can be used for every meal of the day.
I threw this mug on the potters wheel using a strong stoneware clay. I then added the detail and the spiral handle. It was then fired to a bisque before being glazed in three contrasting and complimentary glazes and refired to 1220C.
The colours in this mug include on the inside a light blue and blues,the rim an olive green, and the outside a blues and a french blue.
