Turned wooden boxes are such fun to make. I had one as a child and used to wonder just how they did it. Well now I know and the possibilities are endless!

Full description
This pear-shaped jewellery box is full of character. It would be ideal for holding rings and other small fine jewellery pieces but would look equally good as a display piece.
The box has been made from locally grown kiln dried Apple wood and the stalk is made from English walnut.
After turning I have sanded the box perfectly smooth, sealed it and then used natural Carnauba wax inside and out before buffing to a beautiful sheen. The stalk of the pear which serves as a knob to lift off the lid also makes an ideal ring holder too.
This would be a perfect gift for someone special or to keep as a treat for you!
