Full description
Flat stoneware mortar and pestle in vanilla cream. Handmade Stoneware Pottery by littlewrenpottery on Folksy.
Spices taste more vibrant and flavourful when they've been freshly ground, this flat mortar and pestle has a wide surface area for grinding aromatic spices together.
I created this mortar and pestle from durable white stoneware clay on my potters wheel. It features a heavily weighted mortar with gently curving sides and a wide mushroom shaped pestle which was created in two parts and attached together.
A soft cream glaze decorates the outside of each piece, the insides has been left unglazed so you can feel the sandy texture of the clay and to provide a more abrasive surface for grinding. The mortars flat bottom has been hand stamped with the Little Wren Pottery seal marking this out as a piece of handmade kitchenware.
This set can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
- The mortar is 7.2 inches (18.5 cm) in diameter and 1.1 inches (3 cm) in height
- The pestle is 3.7 inches (9.5 cm) in diameter and 2.7 inches (7 cm) in height
As much as I love our furry friends this piece was created in a pet free and smoke free studio.
I post out all my items Royal Mail first class parcel post which can take 1 - 2 days or standard airmail for international orders which takes 5 days.
