We are herded in trains from one city to the next and we all stare at the countryside in between. Do we think similar things?

Full description
Green, yellow and brown fields as seen from a railway embankment lined with trees and bordered with weeds. Strips of blue sky show though broken cloud. The softened colours give this print a very retro feel.
titled: inter-city contemplation
Image size 250 x 200 mm (10 x 8 ins) approx
Paper size 255 x 305 mm (12 x 10 ins) approx
This is a reduction lino print, number 19 in an edition of only 20 prints.
Reduction lino print method
The lino was partly cut, colour was rolled onto it and printed onto 20 sheets of paper (re-applying the ink for each sheet).
The lino was then cleaned and further cuts were made. A different colour was rolled onto the lino which was then printed over each of the previously printed 20 sheets.
The lino was re-cut and printed in a different colour 5 times for this print.
The last colour to be printed was dark green which represents the state of the lino at the end of the process, all other detail has been cut away. The edition size is decided at the first cut, no further original prints can be made.
Printed onto smooth, off white Saunders Waterford 190gms paper with neatly torn or deckle edges.
5 types of paper were used to print this edition, four prints of each type.
Any questions, do ask, I'd be happy to answer.
