The effect that the shards of spalted beech give on this box reminds me of sunbeams on these late winter evenings , and this wood always go well with walnut.

Full description
A solid walnut jewellery box,the top being veneered with 20 pieces of shard shaped spalted beech edged with black inlay. As a feature I have inserted slithers of veneer at a dovetail angle to the corners of the box.
It has 2 partitioned trays and along with the bottom are lined with beige faux suede.
I have used the top quality solid brass "smarthinge" which has a built-in stop and now made in the UK.
The box measures 260mm x 150mm x 75mm and is finished in a silky smooth lacquer .
