A pretty keyring - featuring the harvest poppies design.
Sky blue wool fibers have been felted to a background of kunin felt (produced from recycled plastic bottles). A wide variety of yarn snippets, carefully collected from other yarn projects, have been added to represent the cornfield. Stitching in fine cotton has been added to the sky to 'stabilise' the felting. The felted panel is edged in blanket stitch using threads to match the areas of the design. Simple embroidery stitches have been used to add poppies and ears of corn.
The fob is gently stuffed with polyester filling, it is stitched centrally through two buttons, one in the centre back (as shown) the other in the centre front (underneath the embroidered panel) to allow the thickness to be 'drawn in' - reducing bulk. An opening keyring, connected by a short length of chain, is securely stitched in place.
