Full description
A pretty and very atmospheric moorland scene decorates this pincushion.
Sky blue wool fibers have been felted to a background of kunin felt (produced from recycled plastic bottles). Fibers, in shades of heather and lime green, have been added to represent the moor. Snips of wool and 'teased out' snippets, have been felted in place to represent distant trees and new bracken fronds. Stitching in fine cotton has been added to the sky to 'stabilise' the felting. Ferns and heathers, in the foreground, have been embroidered in simple stitches using cotton threads. French knots represent distant clumps of heather. The pincushion is edged in blanket stitch using threads to match the areas of the design.
The back of the pincushion is kunin felt. The pincushion is gently stuffed with polyester filling.
