These landscapes are very satisfying to stitch. Themes are repeated, but no two are ever exactly the same. Similar designs also feature on felt bookmarks listed in this shop.

Autumn leaves, toadstools and tiny grazing sheep feature in this hand stitched rural scene. Most of the materials used are remnants, snippets from other projects, commercial remnants or carefully collected vintage supplies. I take care to sew as sustainably as possible!
Scraps of fabric in autumn colours have been appliqued to create a landscape of rolling fields. A textured golden fabric has been enhanced with hand embroidery to suggest a stubble field. Details of the design have been stitched in threads and fine wools, some of them vintage. A fancy yarn with a metallic thread has been used to give a suggestion of autumn leaves. The foreground features tiny red and white toadstools amidst a scattering of fallen leaves and sheltered by autumn bracken.
I have done my best to photograph this item accurately but monitor settings may cause variation in colour.
The back of the plaque is neatened with thick whitel 'felt' - a commercial remnant; and a hanging loop, of hand made hemp cord, is securely stitched in place.
Height (excluding hanging loop) - 12.5 cm approx.
Please note: this plaque may not be washed; the easel is not included.
