I wanted to design and make some small tumblers that could have several uses and be attractive. Feel nice to hold and be strong - and to be able to display in them in their own right.
Before adding the thunb mark they didn't feel quite right; now they do.

Full description
These three MINI TUMBLERS were thrown on the potter's wheel.
I used stoneware clay for strength and durability so the rims could be thin and the tumblers light.
I like to put a thumb mark on the side of each mini tumbler so that each vessel can be cupped comfortably.
I glazed them with food safe glazes and then refired to 1220C.
The inside of the tumbler is a smooth glossy chocolate brown and the outside a warm rich earthy tones.
They are dishwasher safe but gentle handwashing will maintain the shine of the glazes.
