Full description
This textile embroidered picture gives an impressionistic view of a summer cottage garden. A stitched picture made using fabric ribbon and thread in white and mauve with splashes of pink, peach and lemon. It is free style hand stitched using many different threads that overlay each other, building up to give a textural surface, with a few tiny mauve, white and green beads added to give highlights. The embroidery is layered onto a piece of handmade paper and then onto cream mountboard.
The frame measures 20 x 15 x 2.0 (wide) cm (8 x 6 x 1 inches) and the embroidery in the centre of the mount measures 8 x 5.5 cm (3 x 2 inches). The frame can be hung on a wall or displayed standing on a flat surface.
The work is unglazed.
This item has been designed and stitched by me and made in a non-smoking and pet free home.
