I wanted these bowls to be a cool mix of classic design with contemporary styling. The striking shape of the individual leaves with just the colour bringing out the interesting veins and the edgy black underside bring it bang up to date in a fresh and timeless kind of way. So these bowls will hopefully not date and can be enjoyed for years and years to come.

Handmade Ceramic Leaf Bowl in Lava Red
Approximate size 13 x 12 cm from widest points
One my favourite dishes produced in my studio-handmade from fine stoneware clay impressed with a real leaf that once peeled away has left it's delicate impression behind. I have coloured just the leaf veins with bright contemporary glazes-this one fiery Lava Red and to highlight the texture the rest of the clay has been left bare. The underside of the bowl is black clay giving a real cool edge to the piece. A really stylish modern ceramic bowl that looks great in any room of the house and can be used in so many ways.
This size is ideal to sit a bigger candle in, for keeping keys safe or using as a soap dish. I have used lead free glazes and my pieces are fired to stoneware temperatures so this is fine to be used for food and serving.You may even want to leave it empty as a decoration for your home.
These bowls are part of a limited edition run as the leaves I use to make them are no longer available so the one pictured is the exact one you will receive and is completely unique!
All my pieces are stoneware fired so strong and durable. These bowls are dishwasher, oven and microwave safe. I use only lead free dinnerware safe glazes so they are fine to eat off of. I would due to their uniqueness recommend hand washing.
