The lotus flower is a symbol of purity and beauty in buddhism and hinduism.
The ancient egyptians associated the lotus flower with rebirth due to the way it sinks and re-emerges in water.
I am inspired by nature, in particular plants, flowers and other organic matter. I like to take these forms and simplify them to there most basic components. I use high polished sterling silver with freshwater pearls as I think the delicate, precious appearance of both materials compliment each other to make a very precious dainty looking piece that goes hand in hand with it's subject matter. These pieces provide a wonderful contrast to my oxidised work.
