I honestly don't know where the inspiration came from for these; only that they grew from the seed of an idea and ended up as these delightful creatures. A bit like the 'chicken and the egg' scenario really.

This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

Full description

These wee fabric birds are made to order in a range of colours (if you have a particular colour combination in mind I will do my best to match it and I'm happy to send swatches for you to approve before I make your bird). Please message me with your colour preferences. Each one has it's own character as can be seen in the photos. They are stuffed with carded British lambswool, have hand embroidered stitch detail and little felted wool beaks. They stand on coated wire legs and feet.

For your information:

Harris Tweed has been described as “the Champagne of fabrics” and is the only fabric in the world governed by its own Act of Parliament. And with this act the following definition of genuine Harris Tweed became statutory.

“Harris Tweed means a tweed which has been hand woven by the islanders at their homes in the Outer Hebrides, finished in the islands of Harris, Lewis, North Uist, Benbecula, South Uist and Barra and their several purtenances (The Outer Hebrides) and made from pure virgin wool dyed and spun in the Outer Hebrides.”

The time from order to posting is currently two weeks.

Birds are approx: H 9cms(3.5')

W 12cms(5')

PLEASE NOTE: price is for one bird. Photos are representative of the general design, but your bird will be an individual with it's own unique character.
