A pouch shape which I have previously used for a bag, and the raspberry coloured yarn were the starting points.

A beautifully soft and tactile item, hand knitted from a pure wool yarn- pretty and practical!
This purse has been knitted from a pure wool yarn in raspberry red with hints of orange and heather and is beautifully soft. A pouch shape has been created by knitting two 'darts' into the bottom seem of the purse. The top edge is finished with eyelet holes underneath a few rows of ribbing. A crocheted cord, threaded through the eyelets and tied in a bow, gathers in the top edge slightly to secure the contents and accentuate the pouch shape. The cord may be re-tied to create a larger opening if necessary. The flap of the purse is knitted in one piece with the back of the purse and with the flap lining. The edge of the flap is finished with a row of eyelets - providing a picot edge when folded under. Cream roses, and blue forget-me-nots, have been embroidered in a chunky cotton yarn and tapestry wools onto the flap of the purse. The lining is then stitched in place to neaten the back of the flap. The purse closes with a blanket stitch loop, in matching crochet cotton, over a vintage button.
