Many of episodes of Meerkat Manor were watched when I was off sick from teaching.
One day I decided to have a go at knitting a meerkat, picked up some needles and yarn, knitted the first of these little kats and started to get better.
I never went back to teaching - but I've certainly knitted a lot of meerkats since that day!

The baby was my original design in my best-selling handknitted meerkat range and was first created while watching Meerkat Manor...what's not to love?
The baby is slightly smaller than the others and unwired. He can sit freely because his little bottom has been weighted with bean-bag-filling.
Approximately 5 tall, seated, he is already gazing into the skies above looking out for predators.
Designed & knit in the clean, fresh, country air in England (no cigarette, perfume or pet odors)
Niftyknits Meerkats are wrapped in tissue paper and come with a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity and a special edition Niftyknits fridge magnet.
Not suitable for tinies due to seedbead eyes and beanbag granules.
