Welcome to my Folksy shop in which you will find a variety of hand-stitched accessories for you and your home, many of which make lovely (and easy-to-post) gifts. I stitch in a variety of styles, combining traditional embroidery with other textile techniques such as felting, weaving, hand dyeing and silk painting. Vintage linens and fabrics re-stitched into unique gifts and accessories may be found at my second Folksy shop 'LynwoodcraftsRecycled' where you will also find vintage sewing supplies including vintage lace.

Practical and yet very pretty. This needlecase features a hand embroidered panel of chrysanthemums in rich autumn colours.
The blooms are stitched in wool against a hand knitted, and felted, background of a mohair yarn in autumn shades. Straight stitches and french knots are used to represent the flowers and buds. The panel is edged in blanket stitch in a random died thread of primary colours. A pure wool yarn in a tweed effect is couched in place to frame the design.
The cover of the needlecase is in a glazed fabric in an apricot shade. It is reinforced with heavy weight interfacing to maintain shape and to offer some protection against the possible protrusion of needle points. The case closes with a bow tied in a petersham type ribbon in bright orange. A piece of cream commercial felt is securely stitched into the centre of the case to receive your needles.
Height - 10 cm approx.
Width of felt pages - 7 cm approx.
