Full description
A unique, one-of-a-kind handwoven scarf combining bold stripes of red, orange and blue with my own handspun yarn in rich shades of red and gold.
The warp is 100% merino DK yarn, making stripes of colour. The weft is entirely my own handspun yarn, spun from a blend of 83% Corriedale wool and 17% sari silk. The sari silk adds subtle flashes of colour and texture to the handspun yarn, giving the finished scarf plenty of character and a gently rustic, tactile quality.
I have woven this scarf myself on my rigid heddle loom, carefully balancing the strong colours of the warp with the warm, textured handspun weft. As it is individually handwoven, there will never be another scarf exactly like it.
Materials by weight:
50% Corriedale wool
40% merino wool
10% sari silk
Measurements: approximately 35cm wide by 1.70m long, plus fringe
The scarf is warm, soft and wonderfully tactile, with the natural character of wool and the added texture of sari silk. It would make a beautiful statement accessory and a special gift for someone who appreciates natural fibres and genuinely handmade textiles.
Handwoven with care by Pearson Handmade in Lincolnshire, England.
Care: Hand wash gently in cool water using a suitable wool detergent. Do not wring. Reshape while damp and dry flat.
A beautiful choice for anyone who loves natural fibres, handmade textiles and scarves with plenty of texture and individuality.
