Handwoven Wool & Bamboo Scarf – Teal & Green

A one-of-a-kind handwoven scarf combining soft merino wool in shades of green with my own handspun merino and bamboo yarn in a rich, deep teal. The warp is Yarnsmiths Merino DK arranged in random stripes of lime green, pale turquoise blue-green and dark green. The weft is entirely my own handspun yarn, spun from Adelaide Walker Swallowtail - a luxurious blend of 75% merino and 25% bamboo. Its deep teal colour has subtle flashes of pale blue that add movement and depth to the finished fabric. I love the way the colours interact: the green warp peeks through the teal weft to create a softly layered, jewel-like palette. The handspun yarn also gives the scarf a gently irregular, organic texture that makes this piece completely unique. The scarf has been woven by hand on my rigid heddle loom in my North East Lincolnshire studio, then finished with a simple fringe. Please note: As the weft yarn is handspun, the texture and colour distribution are naturally varied. This is part of the character and charm of a handmade, handwoven piece. Care Instructions Hand wash gently in lukewarm water with mild detergent. Rinse carefully and lay flat to dry. Avoid wringing or tumble drying to preserve softness and shape.
