NB: This tray is being sold at a low price as I was testing out a different construction method - the very wide inner tubes I use for larger trays are hard to come by so I tried sewing two narrower ones together. I wasn't entirely happy with how this one turned out. I'm unable to give a discount % for the price as it was never sold at full price.
This tray is great for keeping track of small items that are otherwise easily lost: rings, change, screws and other DIY or crafty bits. It's flexible, resilient, and wipe clean. Being made from two inner tubes it's got a slight rise in the middle where they're stitched together. This is the larger of the two prototype trays of this style I'm listing and measures point to point along each edge approximately 15.5 x 17 cm (see photos)
Inner tubes are made from soft butyl rubber so won't scratch surfaces, won't be damaged by water, and the resilient material isn't damaged by being scrunched up.
The tubes are sourced from local bike shops. They'd normally end up in landfill as most people wouldn't pay a mechanic's time to do a puncture repair - instead a new one's fitted and the old one discarded.
These have been saved from that fate, helping the bike shops reduce their waste and keeping useful materials out of landfill.
While all inner tubes are washed thoroughly before being remade into new products, they may still mark light surfaces. While the rivets are brass, I recommend you wipe the trays clean and don't let them sit in water as they can patina with age.
