It was painted after a walk I took recently near the South Downs where the farmland is simply beautiful and a corner of a meadow is endlessly entertaining (to me at least)

Full description
The Field Beyond is a semi-abstract yellow and green April meadow landscape with buttercups and pink clover. It is 36x30x1.5 inches. The painting shows a view through grasses and flowers and was built up over several layers of impasto paint. Dark trees line the edge of the field and in the centre of them is an opening into the field beyond which is blurred but inviting. This painting was inspired by April walks in the Burwash area of England (where Rudyard Kipling once lived). It is a magical place which inspired him and inspires me too! The feeling this painting tries to express is the sheer insatiable excitement I have to keep reaching for the field beyond... Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity.
